An Islamic State

I am not a religious scholar, but my view of an Islamic State is one one where mercy, tolerance forbearance, truth and justice prevail.  Where there is equal opportunity for all, protection of the poor and needy. Where thinking, reading and learning is emphasized. A state where non-Muslims feel at home, and where the values and teachings of other faiths are respected. It is sad that many of the countries where Islamic values are found in every day life are the countries of the Western world or East Asia, countries that are nominally non-Muslim.
