My vision for an economically strong Pakistan

A country where there is minimal incidence of poverty. Where there exists a safety net for the poor and vulnerable. We can only achieve this through sustained and inclusive growth in real GDP and per capita incomes.

If our citizens are to be able to realise their true potential they need to be healthy and educated. Only then can we have equality of opportunity.

An economically strong Pakistan is one where there is a link between effort, initiative and reward. This is a country where innovation and entrepreneurship flourish, and which is competitive in a range of diversified global product and/or service markets.

An economically strong Pakistan will have balanced trade with the rest of the world. On balance it is better to be a creditor nation, but only within reasonable limits
An economically strong Pakistan will have an inclusive financial system, prudent use of debt and a balance between consumption and investment expenditures. We will have a Governmnet that believes in fiscal transparency, is prudent and has a fiduciary mindset.

A strong Pakistan will have a fair and efficient tax system.

An economically strong Pakistan will have a Government that plays the role of a development agent Private enterprise will servce as an engine of growth. Property rights will be secure and widely held.

An economically strong Pakistan will be an attractive location for foreign direct investment (FDI).

An economically strong Pakistan will be a country that cares for its environment
